When Tracey was little, her daddy used to sing or hum to her while he was tucking her into bed. It was their special time together, and Tracey always tried to make it go on longer, demanding that he do another.

Now, many years later, their relationship had changed, in ways she liked a lot. But Tracey still thought of herself as her daddy’s special girl.

She lay curled comfortably against her father’s bare chest under the covers, the both of them sticky with sweat and more.

She nuzzled her head against his chest. “Will you sing to me, daddy?”
