None of the other numbers Billy had tried had connected. This was the last one. It was the last one, and he’d already called three times only for no one to pick up.This had to be the last call. He shouldn’t even be doing this. He was going to get himself caught. If she didn’t pick up this time, he was going to have to accept that she’d been caught in Raccoon city.
“Hello? It was her voice.
“Rebecca?”
“Uh… Speaking?”
“Sorry… I got the wrong number.” He hung up the phone and breathed a sigh of relief.
