Ingrid was waiting for him when the Death Knight arrived in the disused basement hall.

They had met there three times this far– the first time by chance– and each time they had crossed blades.

“You keep coming back,” Ingrid said blithely, fixing the skull-helmed knight with a stern look.

“And you’re here every time. What will it take to kill you, I wonder.”

“You can find out some other time.” She unbuckled her sword belt and let it clatter to the ground. “Later.”

“What are you doing?” he hissed.

“I’m tired of waiting until I’m exhausted, that’s what. The same dance three times– you aren’t bored yet?”

She strode toward him. The Knight’s stance was wary.

“Come any closer and I will strike you down,” he warned.

“No you won’t, don’t be absurd.”

Boldly, she strode right up to him. His hand rested on his weapon, but he didn’t draw.

Ingrid put a hand on his hip, and with the other, she pulled up his helmet just enough to reveal his sharp jaw and pale lips.

She stood on her toes, and pressed him into a kiss.
